Pittsburgh’s Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) is hosting a virtual Neighborways Summit on September 30th, 2020 at 6pm to introduce its MoveForwardPGH rapid implementation program of their new Bike(+) Plan and to update the community on DOMI’s new traffic calming tool, the Neighborway..
Through the use of traffic calming measures on a shared street, Neighborways improve connections to existing bike routes, create safer environments for bicyclists and pedestrians, reduce vehicle collisions and speeding, and have minimal impact to parking.
This meeting will introduce the community to: the MoveForwardPGH program, explain what a Neighborway is and what traffic calming infrastructure it can include, why Neighborways are selected for certain streets, and updates about ADA modifications being included in Neighborway designs.
